Run for the Hills!
Run the hilliest course in Southeast Michigan!
Join in our 11th Annual Run for the Hills event at Hidden Lake Gardens in Tipton, MI. Come for an amazing walk or run through Hidden Lake Gardens’ beautiful scenery, or compete for naming rights to one of our three big hills. This year the 3 big hills on the course will be renamed with the overall male and female winner and one drawing winner.
Our hybrid course is well marked and allows you to race in your choice of conditions. To compete with others for hill naming rights, you will use a running app to track yourself.
Proceeds from the race will be donated to the Hidden Lake Gardens Reach for the Sky project and Oh These Irish Hills!
Register and run by October 3rd to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
6214 Monroe Road (Hwy M-50), Tipton, MI 49287
A majority of the proceeds from this year's event will go to Hidden Lake Gardens' "Reach for the Sky Project".
Run for the “hill” of it!
Three lucky participants from the annual Run for the Hills 5K event get to name “their hill”. The fastest male and female runners, along with an individual selected from a random drawing get to choose names for their hill. Each year, new signage is placed at three of the hills and the signs remain there until new winners are chosen the following year.
It Takes a Community!
Each year, Oh These Irish Hills! (OTIH!) supports our local community by sponsoring family fun events such as the Annual Run for the Hills! 1 mile and 5K walk/run in September and the Annual Christmas Gala in December. The proceeds earned from these events are returned to the community in the form of generous donations to other community clubs, organizations, and activities.
For the last eleven years, Hidden Lake Gardens has been a sponsor and location of the OTIH! Annual Run for the Hills! This family fun event for all ages and all fitness levels is the perfect opportunity to spend some time in nature while participating in the 1 mile and/or 5K Run/Walk.
On February 4, 2020, OTIH! donated $4,025 to Michigan State University’s beautiful Hidden Lake Gardens. This donation will go towards the Gardens’ “Reach for the Sky” project. Reach for the Sky will include construction of a 10-story, ADA-accessible tree top tower and 700-foot canopy walk. You can get a visualization of what this wonderful addition will look like in the video below.
